Designation: Shift In-Charge – Sulphuric Acid Plant
Candidate Profile
B.E./B.Tech./Diploma in Chemical Engineering or M.Sc. Chemistry preferred.
5–10 years of relevant experience, preferably in Sulphuric Acid Plant operations.
Experience handling shifts in a continuous process industry.
Strong leadership, communication and coordination skills.
Ability to manage operational issues and emergencies.
Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
Preferred Experience
Hands-on experience in DCDA Sulphuric Acid Plant operations in fertilizer/chemical manufacturing environments will be an advantage.

Key Skill / Job Description:
Plant Operations
Monitor Sulphur Burning, Gas Cleaning, Converter, Drying & Absorption systems; ensure stable operation, optimum loading and quality.
Start-up, Shutdown & Troubleshooting
Coordinate activities, handle abnormalities and emergencies; ensure proper isolation and changeover.
Safety & Process Safety
Follow EHS, PTW, LOTO, HIRA, SOPs; ensure PPE usage, monitor safety systems, and report incidents.
Production & Quality
Meet production targets, maintain product quality, minimize losses and downtime.
Maintenance Coordination
Work with Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation teams; ensure equipment availability and follow up on abnormalities.
Team & Shift Management
Lead shift manpower, conduct briefings, training and ensure proper handover.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain logbooks, production records and prepare shift reports.
Continuous Improvement
Drive process efficiency, energy savings, reliability, safety and participate in TPM, 5S and cost-reduction initiatives.
Required Technical Skills
- Knowledge of Sulphuric Acid Plant operations, preferably DCDA technology.
- Hands-on experience with DCS/PLC-based process control.
- Sulphur Furnace/Burning, Gas Cleaning, Converter, Drying & Absorption Towers, Acid Circulation and Heat Recovery systems.
- Understanding of utilities, instrumentation and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of process safety.
- Good decision-making, problem-solving and shift management skills.
