Job Summary

We are looking for a QA Engineer Trainee who is passionate about Quality Assurance and has a good understanding of both Manual Testing and Test Automation. The ideal candidate should have hands-on knowledge of automation tools such as Selenium with Java and/or Playwright with TypeScript, along with a good understanding of testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and programming/scripting concepts in Java and/or TypeScript.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for web and mobile applications.
• Create and maintain automation scripts using Selenium WebDriver with Java and/or Playwright with TypeScript.
• Participate in requirement analysis and identify suitable areas for test automation.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and integration testing.
• Detect, report, and track bugs through to resolution.
• Work closely with developers, QA team members, product managers, and other stakeholders.
• Assist in maintaining automation scripts and testing frameworks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, automation practices, and testing tools.
• Learn and follow QA processes, testing standards, and best practices.

Technical Skills

• Good understanding of Manual Testing concepts, including test case preparation, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
• Good Exposure in Selenium WebDriver with Java for web automation.
• Basic Understanding in Playwright and TypeScript for modern web application automation.
• Good understanding of Java programming – OOP concepts, collections, exception handling, etc.
• Basic understanding of TypeScript/JavaScript and basic programming concepts.
• Familiarity with TestNG/JUnit and Maven/Gradle is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of Playwright features such as locators, assertions, test execution, and reporting is an advantage.
• Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar tools.
• Basic knowledge of API testing using tools such as Postman or REST-assured is a plus.
• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
• Willingness to learn new testing tools and technologies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Candidates with relevant academic/project exposure in Software Testing or QA can apply.
• Good understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines is an added advantage.
• Exposure to both Selenium and Playwright is an added advantage.
