Backend Developer

We are looking for a Backend Developer with 2+ years of hands-on experience in Node.js and Python to join our engineering team. You will build and maintain server-side applications, RESTful APIs, database systems, and business logic. You will work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable applications.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain RESTful or GraphQL APIs using Node.js and Python.
Build server-side logic and application workflows.
Develop backend services using Node.js frameworks and Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
Design clean database schemas and write optimized queries.
Work with relational and NoSQL databases.
Develop secure authentication and authorization systems using JWT, OAuth, or similar methods.
Connect third-party services such as payment gateways, cloud storage, and messaging platforms.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Implement caching solutions such as Redis when required.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
Conduct and participate in code reviews.
Troubleshoot bugs and production issues.
Work with frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps teams.
Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings, requirement discussions, and effort estimation.

Required Skills:
2+ years of professional experience in backend development with Node.js and/or Python.
Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript and ES6+.
Good knowledge of Python programming and backend development.
Good understanding of asynchronous programming, Promises, Async/Await, and the Node.js Event Loop.
Hands-on experience with Express.js, NestJS, FastAPI, Django, Flask, or similar frameworks.
Strong understanding of RESTful API development.
Experience with middleware, error handling, authentication, and API security.
Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar databases.
Knowledge of database schema design and query optimization.
Experience with ORM/ODM tools such as Prisma, TypeORM, Mongoose, Sequelize, SQLAlchemy, or Django ORM.
Knowledge of Git and version control workflows.
Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman or Insomnia.
Basic understanding of Docker and Linux.
Familiarity with CI/CD and deployment processes.
TypeScript experience is preferred.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
2+ years of professional backend development experience.
Experience working on production-grade Node.js and/or Python applications.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Good understanding of software development practices.
Ability to work independently as well as with a development team.
