Educational Qualification
Essential Qualification: Ph.D. in Population Studies, Demography, Public Health, Biostatistics, or a related discipline, with at least two peer-reviewed research publications in the field.
Desirable Qualification: Advanced statistical modelling and programming skills using STATA or R on large-scale sample surveys (such as NFHS/DLHS). Minimum 2 years of post-Ph.D. research experience working with Indian and international collaborators on public health or public policy research, along with proven leadership in drafting policy briefs or contributing to high-impact publications (experience criteria may be relaxed for deserving candidates at authority's discretion).

Selection will be made on the basis of screening of CV, verification of original testimonials and research publications, followed by a walk-in interview by the Selection Committee on 28th September 2026 at IIPS Mumbai. Selected candidates must be prepared to join on short notice.

Academic Merit & Doctoral Research Ph.D. in Population Studies, Demography, Public Health, Biostatistics, or allied disciplines with demonstrated research foundation
Research Publications & Scientific Output Minimum 2 peer-reviewed journal publications in public health, demography, or gender studies; demonstrated contribution to manuscripts or policy briefs
Statistical Modelling & Survey Data Expertise Proficiency in STATA or R, complex survey data analysis, econometric/demographic modelling on large-scale datasets like NFHS
Personal Interview Performance Research methodology vision, understanding of gender-health outcome indicators, capability to deliver project milestones and manage collaborative outputs

Monthly consolidated salary up to ₹1,40,000/- per month commensurate with qualifications and post-doctoral research experience.
Consolidated monthly emoluments up to ₹1,40,000/- per month based on qualification and experience under the IIPS-GENDER Project. No separate DA, HRA, or transport allowances are admissible.
