Selection Process
- Deputy Secretary and Assistant Editor – Interview: Selection for Deputy Secretary (General-Admin.) and Assistant Editor is based purely on performance in the interview; no written test is specified for these posts.
- Level-6 posts – Written Test: Level-6 posts (Senior Library & Information Assistant, Junior Translation Officer, Technical Assistant, Programme Assistant, Publication Assistant) have a 100-mark written test: Part-I objective 50 marks and Part-II descriptive 50 marks, duration 2 hours; Part-II is post-specific.
- Level-4 posts – Written Test and Skill Test: Level-4 posts (Proof Reader Cum General Assistant, Stenographer Gr. II) have the same 100-mark two-part written test as Level-6; Stenographer Gr. II candidates are additionally shortlisted for a qualifying skill test (80 w.p.m. shorthand plus typing).
- Level-1 and Level-2 posts – Written Test and Qualifying Tests: Level-1 and Level-2 posts (Messenger Cum Rider, Van Driver, Junior Clerk, Multi-Tasking Staff) have a 100-mark written test (Part-I objective and Part-II descriptive) of 2 hours. Messenger Cum Rider and Van Driver candidates also undergo a qualifying driving skill test; Junior Clerk candidates have a qualifying typing test.
- Shortlisting and Calling Candidates: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for written examination/skill test/interview; no interim correspondence will be entertained.
