Sr. UI/UX Designer

2Base Technologies is a custom software development company with over 16 years of delivery experience, working as an enterprise solutions partner for clients in the United States, the United Kingdom and other global markets. Our work spans custom software development, AI implementation, legacy system modernisation and operational transformation.
This role designs the interfaces our clients’ users actually work in. You will take functional requirements and wireframes and turn them into interface designs and prototypes that development teams build from, across web and mobile applications in several client contexts at once.

What This Role Exists to Do
Most of what 2Base builds is used by people who did not choose the software. They are operations staff, field teams, finance users and administrators working inside a system their employer selected. Interface quality decides whether that software gets used properly or worked around.
This role owns that outcome. You receive a functional requirement and a Business Analyst wireframe, and you return an interface that is clear to the person using it, consistent across the application, and specified well enough for a developer to build without guessing. You stay with it through implementation.

What You Will Own
Interface design for client web and mobile applications, from Business Analyst wireframes and functional requirements through to development-ready screens
Interactive prototypes in Figma, used to test flows and to align clients before build begins
Design consistency inside each application: layout, typography, colour, spacing, components and interaction patterns
Complete screen states, covering empty, loading, error, partial data, permission-restricted and long-content cases, not the ideal case alone
Responsive behaviour across desktop, tablet and mobile breakpoints, specified rather than left to the developer to infer
Developer handover: specifications, assets, component behaviour and the answers to the questions that come up mid-build
Presenting design work to clients and internal stakeholders, and taking the resulting feedback into the next version
Design files that another designer can pick up: named layers, organised pages, documented components

What You Will Not Own
Functional requirements and scope: the Business Analyst and the Project Manager set these. You design inside them and raise it when the requirement and the interface are in conflict.
Front-end implementation: developers build. You specify, review and confirm what was built matches what was designed.
Client commercial conversations: timelines, change requests and commercial scope sit with the Project Manager.
Brand and marketing design: the Visual Designer owns 2Base’s own brand assets and marketing collateral. This role is client application design.
Final release decisions: release sits with the delivery team.

What We Are Looking For

Experience
4 to 8 years designing interfaces for web or mobile applications, with work you can show and talk through in detail.
A portfolio containing at least two projects where you can describe the problem, your role in it, the decisions you made and what happened after release. Two projects explained properly are worth more than fifteen screens.
Experience designing applications with real functional complexity: forms, tables, workflows, roles and permissions, dashboards. Marketing website design alone is not a fit for this role.
Experience working alongside developers through a build, not handing over and moving on.

Craft
Strong working command of Figma: components, variants, auto layout, prototyping and a file structure other people can navigate.
Interface design that holds up under real content, not only under the content that makes the design look good.
Responsive design across breakpoints, specified deliberately rather than scaled down.
Enough understanding of HTML and CSS to know when a design will be expensive to build, and to have that conversation with a developer before it becomes a problem.
User-centred design practice: you can name who the user is, what they are trying to do, and why the interface is shaped the way it is.

How You Work
You can explain a design decision. Not defend it, explain it: what the alternatives were and why this one.
You take feedback from clients, Business Analysts and developers without treating it as a verdict on your ability, and you push back with a reason when pushing back is right.
You work across several projects at once and tell people early when something will be late.
You finish: states covered, files organised, handover complete. Senior means the work does not need someone behind you.

Good to Have
Experience in Agile delivery teams
Usability testing or structured user feedback analysis
Enterprise or internal business application design
Familiarity with design systems as a maintained asset rather than a one-time deliverable
Accessibility practice, including contrast, focus states and keyboard navigation

Education
Diploma or degree in design, information technology, computer science or a related field. Candidates from other backgrounds with a strong portfolio and demonstrable experience are considered on the work.
