Role overview
The Test Analyst is responsible for the end-to-end testing of all new credit card client onboardings, ensuring that card products, processing configurations, and associated services meet Art Technology’s quality standards before go-live.
Skills & experience needed
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience testing credit card products and services, ideally within a card issuing, processing, or payments environment.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Testing roles OR Software Engineering roles
• Strong understanding of the credit card client onboarding lifecycle, including product configuration, card scheme rules, and processing workflows. Good understanding of payments industry standards, card scheme requirements, and regulatory/compliance considerations.
• Hands-on experience designing and executing manual and functional test cases, test scripts, and test plans using platforms like Jira.
• Hands-on with Testing Lifecycle to support BDD framework of requirement definitions and creating Testing suites for technology team to consume and build Continuous Integration and Continuous Testing.
• Help business users write and execute user acceptance test scripts in Jira. Review failed tests and clarify expected behaviour with developer
• Working experience with core office tools, such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, SharePoint and other common collaboration tools.
• Working experience in sandbox testing environment and processing mock data through payment simulator.
• Experience in API testing, user interface and web-based systems testing. Ability to validate backend services, endpoints, and data payloads using Postman.
• Good understanding of SQL, ITSM toolsets and software monitoring tools.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work across multiple concurrent client testing streams and prioritise effectively.
• Clear communicator, comfortable liaising with clients, project teams, and internal stakeholders on testing status and outcomes.
• Compliance and Regulatory Focus – Regulatory Alignment, Data Security, Audit Readiness: Maintain clear traceability matrices from business needs to final code delivery.
• AI and automation usage to speed up and increase the test coverage. Will need to identify opportunities to use specific tooling to increase test execution and capacity.
Professional qualifications needed
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• ISTQB/ISEB Foundation or Higher certification or
• CTAL-TA (Certified Tester Advanced Level – Test Analyst) certification is often preferred
Technical responsibilities of the role
• Customer / client centricity
o Act as the tester for new credit card clients being onboarded, ensuring their requirements are understood and reflected in test coverage.
o Support client-facing UAT activity, helping clients validate their card products and resolving queries raised during testing.
• Data & reporting
o Produce clear, accurate test summary reports, defect logs, and test coverage metrics for each client onboarding.
o Provide regular status updates to stakeholders on testing progress, risks, and outstanding issues.
• Industry knowledge
o Maintain awareness of card scheme (Visa/Mastercard) rules, payments industry standards, and regulatory changes that may affect test scope.
o Bring external perspective and leading-practice testing approaches into the team’s ways of working.
• Planning & prioritisation
o Plan and prioritise test activities across multiple concurrent credit card client onboardings to meet agreed go-live dates.
o Organise test cycles, environments, and data in line with project and release plans.
o Continuous improvement using AI and other automation tooling
• Product knowledge
o Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of Art Technology’s credit card products, processing platform, and configuration options.
o Stay up to date with new product features and releases, understanding their impact on existing test packs.
• Quality & controls
o Design, execute, and maintain manual and functional test cases covering client-specific card configurations and processing scenarios.
o Ensure all testing is conducted in line with Art Technology’s quality assurance standards, governance, and audit requirements.
o Identify, log, and manage defects through to resolution, escalating risks to quality or timelines as needed.
