Educational Qualification

• Educational qualifications and skill criteria:
• Educational Qualification: Intermediate (10+2) from Uttarakhand Board / Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board or equivalent recognized Board.
• Mandatory Computer Typing Skill: Minimum typing speed of 4,000 Key Depressions Per Hour (KDPH) in Hindi on computer (applicable for Junior Assistant, Registration Clerk, Computer Assistant, and ministerial cadres). English typing and MS Office knowledge desirable.
• For Data Entry Operator / Computer Operator posts: 8,000 KDPH accuracy speed and/or recognized computer course certificate.
• Candidates must possess active registration in an Employment Exchange located in Uttarakhand where required.

Age Limit & Relaxations

Age limit calculated as on 01.07.2026:

• General Age Band: 18 to 42 years (candidates born between 02.07.1984 and 01.07.2008).
• Age band 21 to 42 years applies for specific posts (e.g. Tourism Development Board, Advocate General Office, Telephone Operator).

Selection Process

Computer Typing Test in Hindi (Minimum 4,000 KDPH)

Selection is conducted through an Offline OMR Objective Type Written Examination followed by a qualifying Computer Typing Test:

• Written Examination (100 Marks): 100 multiple-choice questions for 2 hours covering General Hindi (20 marks), General Knowledge & General Studies (40 marks), and Uttarakhand GK (40 marks). Negative marking: 0.25 marks penalty per wrong answer.
• Minimum Qualifying Marks: 45% for UR, OBC, and EWS candidates; 35% for SC and ST candidates.
• Typing Test: Shortlisted candidates (around 4 times the vacancies) are called for computer Hindi typing test with a qualifying threshold of 4,000 Key Depressions Per Hour (KDPH).
• Final merit list is formulated strictly on the basis of written exam marks among typing-qualified candidates.

• Level-6 (₹29,200 – ₹92,300): Telephone Operator (Governor Secretariat).

How to Apply

Application Procedure

Applicants must apply online through the official website www.sssc.uk.gov.in. The application process involves the following steps:

1. Registration & Personal Details

Candidates must use their Aadhaar number for registration. One Aadhaar number can be used only once. It is mandatory to provide a personal mobile number and email ID.

1. Educational & Other Details

• Fill in all required educational and other personal details accurately.

1. Upload Photo, Signature

• Upload scanned copies of a recent passport-sized color photograph (150w x 200H px), signature (150w x 100H px), and clear left thumb impression (150w x 100H px) in JPG/JPEG format.

1. Make Payment

Application fees can only be paid online via Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. Applications without the prescribed fee or with insufficient fees will be automatically rejected.

1. Print Application

After successful submission, candidates must take a printout of the completed application form for future reference. It is advised not to wait until the last day to apply to avoid website congestion. Candidates must ensure they meet all eligibility criteria by the application deadline. Any discrepancy in application details may lead to cancellation of candidature.
