Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a Degree in Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized University or Institution. Candidates who have passed Sections A & B of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Graduate Membership Examination of IETE are also eligible. For Indian Radio Regulatory Service Gr 'A' and Indian Naval Armament Service, candidates with an M.Sc. Degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics, or Radio Engineering are also eligible.

Selection is conducted through a competitive 3-stage process: (1) Stage-I Preliminary Examination consisting of two objective papers (Paper-I General Studies & Engineering Aptitude for 200 marks, Paper-II Engineering Discipline for 300 marks; Total 500 marks); (2) Stage-II Main Examination consisting of two conventional engineering discipline papers (300 marks each; Total 600 marks); and (3) Stage-III Personality Test / Interview carrying 200 marks. Final merit ranking is based on the aggregate marks scored out of 1300 marks.

Recruited Group 'A' officers are placed in Junior Time Scale at Pay Level 10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix (Entry Pay Rs. 56,100/- with maximum basic Rs. 1,77,500/-) along with applicable Dearness Allowance, HRA, Transport Allowance, and central medical/pension benefits.
Pay Level 10 (Rs. 56,100 – 1,77,500/-) for Group 'A' posts and Pay Level 8 (Rs. 47,600 – 1,51,100/-) for Group 'B' posts (JTO) in the Central 7th CPC Pay Matrix, plus Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, and other central government benefits. Central Govt Salary Calculator

Application Procedure

Complete the Universal Registration Number (URN) profile and Common Application Form (CAF) if not already registered.
- Upload required documents including proof of Date of Birth, identity card details (Aadhaar Card recommended for seamless authentication), clear photograph, live photo capture, and signature (signed 3 times in black ink).
Access the Examination Specific Module for Engineering Services Examination, 2027 (Notice No. 02/2027-ENGG.).
Select your engineering discipline (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics & Telecommunication) and preferred exam centres (allotted on a first-apply-first-allot basis).
- Pay the application fee of Rs. 200/- online through Net Banking, Cards, or UPI (Female, SC, ST, and PwBD candidates are exempted).
Verify all details, submit the online application before 06.10.2026 (06:00 PM) , and take a printout of the final application receipt for future reference.
Application Fee & Category Concessions
Candidates (except Female/SC/ST/PwBD who are completely exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only) online via Net Banking, Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card, or UPI.
