Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) or a B.Sc. Nursing degree from a Government or Government-approved Private Nursing College recognized by the Indian Nursing Council. Applicants must possess active registration with the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council and evidence of studying Tamil in the 10th or 12th standard.

Selection is conducted purely on the basis of an Academic Merit List calculated from aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying Nursing Diploma/Degree (GNM / B.Sc. Nursing), Higher Secondary (+2), and SSLC (10th), alongside active registration with the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council. There is no written examination or viva-voce.

Pay Scale & Monthly Remuneration
Fixed monthly consolidated remuneration of ₹ 18,000/- to ₹ 20,000/- per month under the National Health Mission framework. No other allowances or permanent regularisation benefits are admissible.
Consolidated monthly honorarium of ₹ 18,000/- to ₹ 20,000/- per month on a purely temporary/contractual basis under National Health Mission – Tamil Nadu (NHM-TN) norms.

Application Procedure
- Download the official application form from the Greater Chennai Corporation website ( www.chennaicorporation.gov.in ) or NHM Tamil Nadu ( nhm.tn.gov.in ).
- Fill out the application form with personal, educational, Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council registration, and academic marks (SSLC, HSC, GNM/B.Sc. Nursing).
Assemble one set of self-attested photocopies of mandatory documents in order: (a) Date of Birth proof (Birth Certificate / SSLC / HSC), (b) GNM/B.Sc. Nursing Degree/Diploma Certificate, (c) Marksheets of SSLC, HSC, and Qualifying Nursing Course, (d) Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council Registration Certificate, (e) Evidence for Tamil eligibility (10th/12th marksheets), (f) Community Certificate, (g) Proof of residency (Voter ID / Aadhaar Card / Ration Card), (h) Recent Character and Conduct Certificate issued within 3 months by a Group A or Group B Government Officer, and (i) Two recent passport-size photographs.
Submit the completed application form in person or by post to: The City Health Officer / Member Secretary, Chennai City Urban Health Mission, Public Health Department, 3rd Floor, Amma Maaligai, Ripon Buildings, EVR Periyar Salai, Chennai – 600 003 .
